Need
This 14,700 student public school system required assistance in migrating from a legacy Novell infrastructure to a Microsoft-based Active Directory infrastructure to support the delivery of curriculum and new applications written to leverage an Active Directory infrastructure.
Solution
C/D/H conducted a series of training and design workshops to help the client bridge the knowledge gap between their existing systems and the anticipated Active Directory infrastructure, and to collaboratively develop the vision and design for the new environment. Working hand-in-hand the new file servers were installed and configured, data was migrated to the new system and a better workstation imaging process and design was established.
Assessment
As a result of our efforts, the client is now in a position to integrate their wireless network security, classroom collaboration tools and other curriculum-driven applications so that student, teacher and staff access can be managed from a single point. Coupled with improved hardware this school district is in a position to realize a lower cost of ownership.
