Desktop Roll Outs: Playing at the 8th Layer

This presentation was given by Doug Lindhout on Wednesday, June 13th to the West Michigan HDI at Priority Health.

"In the two decades and more that I've been involved with computing technology; I don't recall a project of any substance ever failing because of technical reasons! You may find that astonishing, but if you think about the IT projects you've noted as "fiascos”, the lack of success generally started with a small failure of communication or some process that was not properly addressed and corrected, and that eventually snowballed into disastrous results. The reasons why this happens are endless, but the situation is not hopeless."

This session will share some war stories along with suggestions for how to avoid, or at least minimize the negative impact of these failures.
