[DETROIT, MI] [JANUARY 5, 2018] –Michigan IT consultancy C/D/H has announced that it is partnering with Valo Intranet to provide its pioneering Intranet platform to clients throughout Michigan and the Midwest.

Widely deployed throughout Europe, Valo’s SharePoint-based Intranet platform is only now beginning to be deployed in the United States. Rapid European growth and an abundance of substantial awards, including coveted Microsoft “Partner of the Year” honors and “Best Intranet/Extranet” recognition for two years in a row, have led the Nordic firm to tackle the competitive U.S. market.

Valo emphasizes the system’s suitability for modern mobile-enabled workforces. The Valo system is mobile-friendly, functioning well across devices, operating systems and platforms to facilitate communication and collaboration for broadly-dispersed teams as well as internal employees.

LaPan cites the Valo platform’s flexibility, customizability and reliability as key advantages for clients seeking cost-effective Intranet solutions without the need for extensive – and expensive – custom SharePoint development. “The Valo system takes all the custom applications or web parts that companies usually have to develop for themselves and provides them as part of one compatible, integrated system,” he explains. “You don’t have to spend the time or money to create these functions, and because everything’s built through SharePoint, nothing breaks when Microsoft issues an update.”

C/D/H’s choice to partner with Valo was the result of a careful competitive analysis and the determination that the Valo system stood to offer the optimal level of flexibility and value to clients. An extensive out-of-the-box feature list includes the majority of functions needed by most businesses, including targeted news, people directory, company alerts, job postings, video, surveys, search functions, blog capability and more. Most key content is readily visible to users via the customizable home page. Back-end administrative functions enable the creation of multiple administration tiers, allowing different administrators to control content for their own subsections and user groups.

LaPan cites a number of optional add-ons as being particularly powerful differentiators for the Valo system. These include a Social Hub, which easily aggregates a company’s complete social media portfolio within a single page. Users can view social content, comment, rate, recommend and share across all social platforms from within the page, helping to improve visibility and search results.

An add-on called Teamwork 2.0 powerfully extends the platform’s capabilities by giving administrators control over the Office 365’s Groups function while providing a simple solution for users to manage their groups and the associated content Whereas in a normal Office 365 deployment, administrators can only turn groups on and off, Teamwork 2.0 enables them to approve or veto new groups, consolidate them when desired or delete them if necessary.

Administrators gain the ability to control intranet content and view usage via an integrated dashboard system that provides detailed usage metrics. Popular content is easily promoted; long-abandoned sections of the site can be readily identified and archived or deleted as needed. 

LaPan notes that the Valo system is well suited to companies and organizations that want a highly customized, branded communications hub, but who also want to deploy it quickly – and affordably. In particular, C/D/H’s agreement with Valo permits deep discounts for nonprofit organizations. “We can get companies started with a system they can use now, without spending weeks or months planning out their Intranet,” he says. “We can have a system up within a couple of weeks, and companies can scale up or add features if they are necessary. Really, the sky’s the limit.”
